Birmingham Ceo Wants Wrexham Game In Usa

Birmingham CEO wants Wrexham game in USA

Blues boss hoping for summer friendly match at Yale Bowl

'We want to play in Connecticut'

Birmingham City boss Ian Foster wants to arrange a summer friendly match in the United States - with Yale Bowl his preferred venue.

Foster was speaking after Blues pre-season friendly win at Wrexham, which was played in front of over 9,000 fans at the Racecourse Ground.

The match was a sell-out and Foster was impressed with the atmosphere, saying: "It was a great occasion and I'm really pleased we came here."

Foster went on to say that he would like to bring Blues back to the US for a friendly match in the summer.

"We want to play in Connecticut," he said. "We have a lot of fans in the US and we would love to come over and play a game for them."

The Yale Bowl is a historic stadium in New Haven, Connecticut. It has a capacity of over 60,000 and has hosted many major sporting events, including the 1951 Yale-Harvard football game, which was attended by over 80,000 fans.

If Blues do play at the Yale Bowl, it would be the first time they have played in the US since 2012, when they played a friendly against the New York Cosmos.

A summer friendly in the US would be a great opportunity for Blues to build their brand in the US and to give their fans in the US a chance to see them play live.
